James Franco was able to get an all-star cast for his production that includes Seth Rogan, Zac Efron, Keegan Michael Key and Randall Park, among many other greats. Though this film is derived from one of the worst films ever made, James Franco made sure this movie was better than good. It won multiple awards and was nominated for several others.

In her directorial debut, Radha Blank tells a story that is loosely based on her own life as she approached the age of 40. Radha is a playwright that is not enjoying the success she thought she would have when she received an award for being one of the top 30 under 30 in her profession. With 40 approaching Radha wants to make a change in her life and decides a new version of herself is the answer to her problems. In an attempt to find her voice, she creates a rap persona RadhaMUSPrime and starts her career as a rapper. Radha Blank’s first film was named one of the 10 best films in 2020 and will prove to be an introspective, hilarious time.
21 Jump Street
Before they were famous for creating a couple of the greatest animated movies ever such as “Into the Spider-verse and the “Lego Movie”, Phil Lord and Chris Miller directed “21 Jump Street. Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum are a pair of underachieving cops. They are sent back to a local high school to blend in and bring down a synthetic drug ring. Comedy hijinks ensue as Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum pose as old students to try and crack the case.
Inside
We’ve included none of Netflix’s many stand-up comedy specials on our best Netflix comedy list instead of focusing on real films but we have come up with an exception. In addition to its humorous aspect, Bo Burnham’s Netflix original “Inside” has the potential to become an incredibly strange movie. Developed for a pandemic crowd, “Inside” differs from most others made during that period. The story is one of the most unique comedies on Netflix right now that has great songs about White women’s Instagram and FaceTime with their parents. Despite his fixation with the inside, Burnham’s message took us outside the box.
The Other Guys
This incredibly funny movie stars Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell as two mismatched New York City detectives. They seize an opportunity to step up like the city’s top cops, but things don’t go as planned. This cult classic is laugh-out-loud funny and will make your Saturday night worth staying into Netflix and chill.

He spends time with friends and gets a job at a local quarry and while the world seems like it’s on his side, he soon realizes that he needs something more than just the silver linings of life to make him happy again. In this dark comedy of finding life and possibly romance Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper headline a cast remarkable cast that includes Robert De Niro and Cris Tucker. Both characters’ love life is on the rocks when they find one another to make one of the best comedies of 2012.
Don’t Look Up
This Netflix original movie stars the great Leonardo Di Caprio and Jennifer Lawrence as low-level astronomers that spot the asteroid that is going to collide with the earth and destroy the entire planet. When the two astronomers have to go on a media blitz to let the world know that life as they know it is about to end, the United States government decides to politicize the catastrophic event. This Satirical take on today’s social climate has been polarizing but the dark humor from director Adam McKay stood out among the critics, making it a best picture nominee at the golden globes.
Lady Bird
Set in Sacramento, Lady Bird is a coming-of-age story of a high school senior (Saoirse Ronan) and her relationships with family and friends. Paddington
Paddington is a children’s film based on the book series of the same name. Paddington is an animated comedy about a bear who finds himself lost and alone in London, far away from his home in “Darkest Peru.” Paddington was found by Mr. & Mrs. Brown at Paddington Station, sitting on his suitcase with a note that read “Please look after this bear”.
They offer him temporary lodging while they try to find where he belongs. This Netflix original follows Paddington as he tries to fit into British life and get back across the Atlantic Ocean so he can be reunited with his family again. Along the way Paddington meets new friends from all walks of life including Brown Owl. This is truly one of the best comedies on Netflix that the entire family will enjoy.
Monty Python’s Life of Brian
Monty Python and the Holy Grail has been a cult classic for decades and somehow lighting struck twice. Monty Python Life of Brian remains one of the greatest films to date in America despite its recent 50th anniversary. Just to prove to the world that the Holy Grail was more than a fluke, the Monty Python team got together with Brian to give us life. Another period film and another set of ridiculous situations merged in the most offensive way. This time, it is focused on a young Jewish man referred to as Brian who is proclaimed the Messiah in the unfortunate mix-up. It won’t be long until it’s found out Brian is no messiah but instead quite naughty. While this is not the “Holy Grail”, “Life of Brian” is a classic in its own right.
